PROF. THOMAS KNERER
was born in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1963.
After leaving school, he trained as a journeyman bricklayer in Munich from 1982-1984 and studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich and Southbank University London from 1984-1991.
In 1993 he founded the office KNERER UND LANG in Dresden together with EVA MARIA LANG.
He was a guest lecturer at the Centre for Advanced Training in Conservation and Restoration of Historic Buildings at the TU Dresden. From 1999 to 2008, he taught building construction at the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau (FH). In 2005, Thomas Knerer became a member of the BDA and
Member of the design and planning advisory board of the city of Ingolstadt since 2012
2017 Appointed to the design and planning advisory board of the city of Darmstadt
He is a member of the German Sustainable Building Council and a founding member of the ‘Zeitgenossen’ e.V. Initiative f. zeitgenössische Baukultur and the Bundesstiftung Baukultur. 2015 Appointment to the Deutscher Werkbund Bayern.
EVA MARIA LANG
was born in Munich in 1964.
She studied architecture at the TU Munich from 1985-1991.
In 1993, she founded the KNERER UND LANG office in Dresden with THOMAS KNERER.
From 1994 to 2001, she taught at the TU Dresden and was a guest lecturer at the Centre for Continuing Education for the Preservation and Restoration of Historic Buildings at the TU Dresden
In 2005, Eva Lang was appointed a member of the BDA and was a member of its AKJAA working group of young architects until 2009. In 2013, she was appointed to the design and planning advisory board of the city of Halle, and in 2015 to the design advisory board of the city of Kaiserlautern.
