The area south of Gert-Schwämmle-Weg in Hamburg is being enhanced by the construction of a new building. The four-story structure is enclosed by a folded façade design that extends into a distinctive roofscape, seamlessly integrating into the existing perimeter block development.

Modern, forward-thinking, and in line with the standards of the International Building Exhibition (IBA), the new construction is being executed as a passive house. By utilizing innovative products and carefully selected passive house components, the design intentionally addresses climate change. This pioneering construction method embodies sustainability and environmental friendliness.

The building offers exceptional living comfort due to its high level of coziness and consistently fresh indoor air quality. Construction of the new residential building is scheduled to begin in September 2010. With approximately 1,800 m² of living space, it will provide 24 new residential units and a commercial unit on the ground floor.

Functionally designed living spaces are extended into the outdoors through generous balconies and loggias. Together with the renovation of existing buildings and the construction of the new building, this creates an ensemble that forms the gateway to the southern planning area in the Wilhelmsburg Weltquartier.
